Sushil salute, Kanker. 29 Naxalites have been killed in the encounter that took place today in Hapatola forest of Kanker district. All the bodies have been recovered. The killed Naxalites include many big leaders including Naxalite Shankar Rao, who had a reward of Rs 25 lakh. This has been confirmed by Bastar IG P. Sundarraj. Three soldiers are injured in this operation. All three are out of danger. For better treatment, the injured soldiers have been brought to Raipur, where the treatment is going on. A huge quantity of weapons including AK-47, 3 LMGs have also been recovered. Searching is still going on in the area.

Deputy CM and Home Minister Vijay Sharma reached the hospital and inquired about the well being of the soldiers injured in the Kanker encounter. The injured soldiers are said to be out of danger. During this, the Deputy CM said, the problem will not be solved by shedding blood. Even today we are ready to talk. We are ready to talk to all Naxalites who come. We will do it through whatever medium we want to talk.
