Rahul targets BJP: Why did Haryana’s youth become “dunky”

The Uncut

New Delhi: Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the unemployment problem in Haryana and asked why the youth of the state are forced to be “donkeys”. He also said that as soon as the Congress government is formed in Haryana, such a system will be created in which the youth will not have to stay away from their loved ones for their dreams.

Here “dunky” refers to illegally crossing into another country, also known as a “dunky flight”. This is a dangerous immigration route used by many Indian citizens to cross into countries like the US and Canada.

Rahul Gandhi met some people who were going to America from India during his recent US tour. One of them was a young man named Amit whose family the Congress leader met in Karnal last Friday.

Rahul Gandhi shared the video of this meeting on the social media platform ‘X’ and posted, “Why are the youth of Haryana ‘dunking’? Lakhs of families are paying the price of the ‘disease of unemployment’ spread by the BJP by being away from their loved ones.”

He said, “During my visit to America, I met the youth of Haryana who are spending their lives in a foreign country, away from their families. When I met their families on my return to India, their eyes were filled with pain. Lack of opportunities has taken away the children from their fathers and the elderly from the support of their old age.” Rahul alleged that in 10 years, the BJP has done grave injustice to the youth of the entire country including Haryana by snatching employment opportunities from them.

The Congress leader said, “The youth are forced to undertake a ‘journey of torture’ due to broken trust and defeated mind. If these migrant birds, who have been separated from their branches, get a chance to earn a living in their own country, among their loved ones, then they will never leave their homeland.” He said, “It is our resolve that as soon as the Congress government is formed, we will create such a system in Haryana in which the youth will not have to go away from their loved ones for their dreams.”
