While reviewing election preparations in Mumbai, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that there are 288 constituencies in Maharashtra. These include ST constituency 25 and ST constituency 29. The total voters in the state are 9.59 crore. Of these, male voters are 4.59 crore and female voters are 4.64 crore. First time voters aged 18-19 years are 19.48 lakh. There is a lot of enthusiasm among them.

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that efforts are being made to ensure maximum voting in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. He said Mumbai and its surrounding areas like Colaba-Kalyan had witnessed the lowest turnout in the Lok Sabha elections. For this, daily wage earners and other people in the unorganized sector should tell the administration that they will get paid leave on the day of voting.
