Prominent Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal, citing incidents of firing on commercial establishments in the national capital, claimed that law and order has broken down in Delhi and jungle raj is prevailing. Former Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal, in a post on social media platform ‘X’, said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah will have to take immediate effective steps as maintaining law and order in the national capital comes under his jurisdiction.

He said, “Law and order has broken down in Delhi. There is complete jungle rule. People are feeling unsafe in the country’s capital. The law and order system of Delhi comes under the jurisdiction of Amit Shah ji. They will have to take immediate effective steps.” In the last few days, incidents of firing have been reported from different parts of Delhi, where a second hand luxury car showroom, a hotel and a sweet shop were targeted. Police suspect that these incidents are related to extortion attempts by gangs.

Ruling AAP MLAs on Friday raised the issue of law and order in the Delhi Assembly session and claimed that there has been an increase in the number of extortion calls received by traders and businessmen from various gangs in the capital. He also accused the Delhi Police of inaction and claimed that people have lost trust in them and they are directly colluding with the gangs to cover up the case. AAP MLAs have also demanded reinstatement of monitoring committees at the police station level to keep an eye on such crimes.

Amid growing concerns over law and order in Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government minister Saurabh Bhardwaj on Sunday questioned the role and priorities of Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, claiming that due to the latest incidents of firing in the national capital, There is an atmosphere of panic.

He also announced that he and several AAP leaders, including MLA Durgesh Pathak, would meet the Lieutenant Governor on Monday and demand immediate action on the deteriorating law and order situation in the city. Bhardwaj and Pathak on Sunday visited the Narayana showroom, where the recent firing incident took place. He claimed that these incidents are increasing fear among the residents of the capital and business owners.

Bhardwaj said during his visit, “This is the main road area of ​​Naraina, which is most commercially busy around 7:15 pm. At such a time, gangsters enter a showroom with weapons and fire 24 bullets. A gun was put to the head of a person inside.” Pathak criticized the alleged inaction of the police despite complaints lodged by traders and pointed out that the showroom is only a few kilometers away from the Prime Minister’s residence.

Earlier in the day, Bhardwaj, in a press conference, demanded the Lieutenant Governor to visit the site of the firing along with the Police Commissioner and Home Minister Amit Shah. He alleged that there is an atmosphere of panic in the city, such a situation has never arisen before. Underlining the growing concerns regarding public safety in the capital, Bhardwaj said, “There is an atmosphere of panic in Delhi today. I can say with full responsibility that I have never had such a situation in Delhi before.”
