NIA raids 12 places in Bengal over links with Maoists

Kolkata: National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials on Tuesday conducted simultaneous raids on 12 premises of people allegedly associated with Maoists in West Bengal, including in Kolkata. An official source gave this information.

The source said that raids are underway at Netaji Nagar, Panihati, Barrackpore, Sodepur, Asansol and several other places in West Bengal in connection with the alleged links of the two women and their associates with Maoists.

He said that these women allegedly used the money sent to them to spread the Maoist network in eastern India. The source said, “These raids are being conducted to find out the role of these people in the Maoist organization.” He said that many documents have been seized during the raid.
