Mumbai: Actor Govinda’s family said he will be discharged from the hospital here on Friday. The 60-year-old actor was injured after being accidentally fired from a revolver. His leg was injured. Govinda underwent surgery in a private hospital on Tuesday, after which his health is improving.
The actor’s daughter Tina Ahuja shared information about his health with reporters, saying, “He is better than before.” He is being discharged today.” His wife Sunita Ahuja also told reporters that Govinda has been advised rest for at least six weeks.
He said, “He (Govinda) will be discharged today. I will bring him here, but he will have difficulty standing right now… He is fine and will start dancing again in a few days. Everyone has prayed for him and we have the blessings of Mata Rani.
“The doctor has asked him to rest at home for six weeks,” he said. Therefore, we will not allow them to meet many people as infection may occur. He needs rest.” On Tuesday, when Govinda was about to leave home for the airport, his revolver accidentally fired, injuring him.
The local police and Mumbai Crime Branch have started investigation in this matter. Police said that no complaint has been registered yet in this matter. Dr. Ramesh Aggarwal, who treated the actor, said that the bullet had hit him below his left knee and he had received 8-10 stitches.
