Bihar: NDA alleges theft of goods from Tejashwi’s vacated bungalow, RJD hits back

The Uncut

Patna. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar on Monday alleged theft of goods from the bungalow recently vacated by Tejashwi Yadav. This bungalow was allotted to Tejashwi when he was the Deputy Chief Minister of the state. Hitting back at the allegations, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) said the NDA was expressing its frustration over Tejashwi Yadav and his father Lalu Prasad getting bail from a Delhi court in the land-for-jobs ‘scam’. This huge bungalow, located right next to the official residence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, has now been allotted to the current Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Samrat Chaudhary, who can move into this bungalow in a few days.

State BJP media in-charge Danish Iqbal told reporters, “We are inspecting 5, Desh Ratna Marg, so that necessary work can be done before the arrival of our leader. We are surprised to see many things missing. Obviously, the people who previously lived in this bungalow took these items with them.” Iqbal said that the missing items included “an expensive badminton court mat made in the residence, a sofa set, an air conditioner, a hydraulic bed, a wash basin and several water taps.”

He said the details have been shared with the Building Construction Department, which is responsible for the maintenance of ministers’ bungalows, for necessary action. JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar, reacting to ally BJP’s allegation, said, “It took so many months for Tejashwi Yadav to vacate the bungalow, this in itself is a matter of concern.” But, if he has allowed his people to loot government property, it raises questions about his character. It is expected that the Deputy Chief Minister will take this matter seriously and take it to its logical conclusion.”

RJD spokesperson Shakti Yadav rejected the allegation and said the NDA was expressing its frustration over Tejashwi Yadav and his father Lalu Prasad getting bail from a Delhi court in the land-for-jobs ‘scam’. RJD spokesperson alleged, “At the behest of the ruling BJP at the Centre, ED and CBI harassed our leaders a lot. “Now, when the NDA is feeling embarrassed because of its misdeeds, its leaders are making baseless allegations.” He challenged the building construction department to present the list of items kept in the residence and claimed that “we had shot videos of the time when our leader (Tejashwi) was vacating the premises. If such activities do not stop, we will make the video public.”
