The Uncut

New Delhi. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for sharing pictures of Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, surrounded by ‘cartons’, signing files at her residence in Kalkaji and accusing her of trying to gain sympathy. Accused of portraying himself as a victim and “drama” in the ‘Flagstaff Road Bungalow’ controversy.

AAP shared some pictures on social media platform ‘X’ on Thursday and claimed that Atishi was signing files amid ‘cartons’ of goods at her Kalkaji residence. A day earlier, the Delhi Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) in a statement on Wednesday had alleged that the “Chief Minister’s residence” at 6, Flagstaff Road, Civil Lines, was forcibly vacated at the behest of the BJP, as Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena had… Want to allocate a BJP leader.

BJP’s Delhi unit chief Virendra Sachdeva said that contrary to AAP’s claim, the bungalow at 6, Flagstaff Road is not the official residence of the Delhi Chief Minister. Sachdeva said, “It is like other government bungalows, where Arvind Kejriwal lived as Chief Minister.” He challenged the AAP government to prove that the bungalow at 6, Flagstaff Road in Civil Lines area was “marked” as the official residence of the Chief Minister.

Sachdeva said, “If Atishi wants to stay there, we have no objection but it should be as per the rules.” Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly, Vijendra Gupta, accused Atishi of portraying herself as a victim and said, “Sharing the pictures of Atishi working among the empty boxes is a new drama of the Aam Aadmi Party.” Gupta on Thursday visited the AB-17 bungalow on Mathura Road which was allotted to Atishi after becoming the minister last year.

He said, “There is a bungalow allotted in her name on Mathura Road, which was used by Sheila Dikshit for 10 years when she was the Chief Minister of Delhi.” He said, “Apart from this, Atishi can work from her office in Delhi Secretariat, but she is making a futile attempt to show herself as a victim by posing for pictures with empty boxes.” AAP has accused BJP of trying to capture the “Chief Minister’s bungalow” despite not being in power in Delhi for 27 years.
