Muzaffarnagar. In Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh, police have arrested a couple for sacrificing their own one-month-old baby girl on the advice of a Tantrik for the treatment of diseases. Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural Area) Aditya Bansal told PTI on Thursday that Gopal Kashyap and his wife Mamta were detained in connection with the murder of their own daughter in Belda village of Bhopa police station area on Wednesday night. During interrogation, both of them made a shocking revelation and confessed to the crime of murdering their daughter.
According to Bansal, the interrogation revealed that Mamta was ill for a long time and a Tantrik had advised her that if she wanted to get rid of her illness, she would have to sacrifice her own one month old daughter. On this, the couple sacrificed the girl and hid her body in the forest.
He told that the police is searching for the body of the girl based on the statement of the couple. Along with this, efforts are also being made to catch the Tantrik named Harendra who had advised them to kill the girl for the treatment of the disease. Bansal said that this matter came to light when the neighbors informed the police expressing suspicion over the girl’s disappearance.
