Surajpur. In the case of murder of the wife and daughter of a head constable in Surajpur district of Chhattisgarh, the police arrested the accused from Balrampur district. Police officials gave this information on Tuesday. On Sunday night, Kuldeep Sahu attacked the house of head constable Talib Shaikh and killed his wife Mehnaz Shaikh (35) and daughter Alia Shaikh (11) in the Kotwali police station area of ​​Surajpur district.

Surajpur district Superintendent of Police MR Ahire told reporters here on Tuesday that the police arrested the accused Kuldeep Sahu in Balrampur district bordering Jharkhand. Ahire said that Sahu will be interrogated, after which more information will be available in this regard. He told that the police is also interrogating other people in this case. The officer said that the post-mortem confirmed murder, although no evidence of rape was revealed.

According to the police, during the immersion of Durga idol in Kotwali police station area of ​​Surajpur district on Sunday, Kuldeep Sahu had poured boiling oil on a police constable after a dispute over some issue. Police officials said that when the police team was sent to investigate the case and arrest Sahu, Sahu tried to crush head constable Talib Shaikh and the police team with a four-wheeler.

Ahire told that when Head Constable Sheikh reached his house after the Durga Visarjan program was over, the outside door was broken and his wife and daughter were not present in the house. He told that after seeing blood in the house, Sheikh informed the police officials. The officer said that after the police team reached there, the search for Sheikh’s wife and daughter was started.

Police officials said that the bodies of Shaikh’s wife and daughter were recovered near Peedha village, about four kilometers from the city, on Monday morning. After getting information about the incident, the local people vandalized and set fire to the house of accused Sahu.
Police officials said that in view of the tension in the area, a large number of police forces have been deployed there.
