The matter of SI recruitment exam has reached the court. After the preliminary examination on January 29, 2023, the list of qualified candidates was released for the main examination on May 16, 2023, in which 370 women candidates were selected. After this selection, the candidates who did not appear in the merit list filed petitions in the High Court, alleging irregularities in the recruitment process and violation of rules. The petition said that out of 975 posts, 247 were for platoon commanders and the merit list required 20 times the number of candidates, while the names of 6,013 women candidates were included in the list. The petitioners objected to this. On May 20, 2024, Bilaspur High Court ordered that it was wrong to include women in the recruitment of platoon commanders, and directed to include men in their place. However, the final result was not released even after five months of the court order, due to which the candidates demonstrated and fasted.
