Rahul worshiped at Valmiki temple, met representatives of Valmiki community

New Delhi: Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Thursday offered prayers at the Valmiki temple here on the occasion of Valmiki Jayanti and later met representatives of the Valmiki community. Rahul Gandhi reached Valmiki Temple located on Mandir Marg in the morning. He spent some time at Bapu Niwas present in the temple premises.

Marhish Valmiki is the author of the Hindu epic Ramayana. Rahul Gandhi shared several of his photographs of Valmiki Mandar on the social media platform ‘X’ and wrote, “Best wishes to all of you on the birth anniversary of the creator of the epic Ramayana, Adikavi Marhish Valmiki ji.” This morning, on this auspicious occasion, visited Valmiki temple in Delhi. Mahatma Gandhiji had spent a lot of time with Valmiki Samaj in this complex and got inspiration by staying for some time in Bapu Niwas.

The former Congress President said, “I pay my respects to the great ascetic Marish Valmiki ji who showed humanity the path of truth, justice and harmony with love and compassion.” After worshiping at the Valmiki temple, Rahul Gandhi took a walk at ’10 Janpath’. Met many representatives of Valmiki Samaj. ’10 Janpath’ is the official residence of Congress Parliamentary Party chief Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi also lives there.
