New Delhi: The trend of bomb threats on Indian planes is not stopping. On Friday, after a bomb threat in a Vistara flight from Delhi to London, it was diverted to Frankfurt and made an emergency landing here. The airline has also issued a statement in this regard.
In a statement on Saturday morning, an airline spokesperson said the flight had landed safely at Frankfurt Airport and necessary checks were being carried out. After getting the approval from the security agencies, the flight will leave for its destination.
Flight diverted after receiving threat
The spokesperson said, “Vistara flight UK17, scheduled to fly from Delhi to London on October 18, 2024, received a security threat on social media. As per protocol, all concerned authorities were immediately informed and as a precautionary measure the pilots decided to divert the flight to Frankfurt.”
According to an official associated with the case, there was a threat to blow up the flight with a bomb. Earlier, Akasa Air had said that its flight QP 1366, flying from Bengaluru to Mumbai on Friday, had received a security alert shortly before departure.
“Therefore, as per safety and security procedures, all passengers had to be deboarded as local authorities followed the necessary procedures,” the airline said in a post on Twitter. We request you to show understanding in this matter as our team made every possible effort to minimize the inconvenience.”
Fake threats are being received continuously
Let us tell you that in the last few days, about 40 flights operated by Indian airlines have received bomb threats, which later proved to be false. The Civil Aviation Ministry is planning to impose strict rules on airlines to prevent incidents of false bomb threats, including putting perpetrators on the no-fly list.
