AAP leaders had once sought justice for Nirbhaya, but today they are supporting an accused: Maliwal

The Uncut

New Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha member Swati Maliwal said on Sunday that her party colleagues had once demanded justice for Nirbhaya but today they are supporting a person who has assaulted them.
AAP has accused Maliwal of being involved in a conspiracy to implicate Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a false case. Swati Maliwal said that if AAP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had been here today, “perhaps things would not have been so bad for me.” Sisodia is currently lodged in Tihar jail in connection with the excise policy case.

Maliwal alleged that when she had gone to meet Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at his residence on May 13, his personal assistant (PA) Bibhav Kumar had assaulted her. AAP has rejected her allegations outright and claimed that Maliwal is working at the behest of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to implicate Kejriwal in a fake case.

Maliwal said on Sunday, “There was a time when we all took to the streets to get justice for Nirbhaya, today after 12 years, we have taken to the streets to save an accused who made CCTV footage disappear and captured everything through phone. removed? I wish he had put so much effort for Manish Sisodia ji. If he had been here, maybe it wouldn’t have been so bad for me!” Maliwal has been associated with AAP since its inception more than ten years ago. Police had arrested Bibhav Kumar in this case on Saturday.
