Jashpur: Attempt to rob customer service center, operator’s grandmother shot dead

Jashpur. In Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh, robbers shot dead an elderly woman while trying to rob a customer service center. Police officials said on Tuesday that the woman’s grandson was injured in the incident. Jashpur Superintendent of Police Shashi Mohan Singh said that two robbers tried to rob the shop of Sanju Gupta (25), customer service center operator of State Bank of India (SBI) in Batikela village of Kansabel police station area of ​​the district on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Singh, the robbers shot dead Sanju’s grandmother Urmila Gupta (65). He told that Sanju was also injured in the incident. According to Singh, at around 12 noon, two masked attackers riding a motorcycle reached the village and entered the customer service center and tried to rob.

He told that when the director of the center, Sanju, protested, the robbers started threatening him with a country-made pistol. Meanwhile, Sanju’s grandmother Urmila reached there and started trying to snatch the bag from the robbers. Then a robber shot Urmila, due to which she died on the spot. According to Hav Singh, the robbers attacked Sanju with the butt of a knife, due to which he got injured.
He told that when the robbers were running away from there, the people nearby tried to catch them, but the robbers also tried to attack them and left the motorcycle and ran towards the forest.

Singh said that after getting information about the incident, a police team was sent to the spot and the injured youth was sent to the hospital. Injured Sanju is being treated. He said that the police have registered the case and started searching for the attackers.
