Police officials said that the accused have been identified as Pran Sai (59), his wife Munni Bai (57), their son Mukesh Kumar (18) and Mukum Ram (23), all of whom were booked at Sawanrava in Orgi police station area of ​​the district. There is an allegation of murder of Nanki Bai (65) in the village.

He told that a son in Sai’s family had committed suicide by hanging himself about four years ago and he suspected that this incident happened due to witchcraft by Nanki Bai. Police officials said that on November 14, accused Mukesh called Nanki Bai to his house and there Nanki Bai was given alcohol to drink, after which the family killed Nanki Bai with an ax and took the body to a nearby forest. He said that after getting information about the matter, the police team left for the spot and the body was recovered. After investigating the case, the police arrested all the four accused on November 16. Police officials said that action has been taken against the accused under sections of the Indian Justice Code and Chhattisgarh Tonhi Torture Prevention Act 2005.
