Sitamarhi: Three people were killed and six others were injured in a head-on collision between a tempo and a truck near Mohanpur Chowk in Bihar’s Sitamarhi district on Tuesday night. Sitamarhi Sadar Sub-Divisional Officer (SDPO) Ram Krishna, while talking to reporters, said, “The incident occurred at around 10 pm on Tuesday night when the tempo collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction near Mohanpur Chowk.”
He said that all the injured were taken to the nearest government hospital where three were declared dead by the doctor. Other injured have been referred to other hospitals for better treatment. The SDPO, however, did not reveal the identity of the victims and said, “The victims have been identified and their family members have also been informed.”
Most of them are residents of Ramnagara, Sonbarsa and Kanhauli. Information about the victims will be shared with the media soon.” The police have launched a search operation to nab the truck driver who is absconding after the accident.
