JMM led coalition government silent on conversions being done by Christian missionaries in Jharkhand: Himanta

The Uncut

Bokaro. Assam Chief Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Himanta Vishwa Sharma on Wednesday accused the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led ruling alliance of maintaining silence over conversions allegedly being carried out by Christian missionaries in the state. He also accused the state government of doing nothing to protect Hindu rights.

Addressing an election rally in Bokaro, Sharma said, “Christian missionaries in Jharkhand are active in conversion but the present government is silent on it. This government has failed to protect Hindu rights.” He alleged that the ‘corrupt’ alliance is simply engaged in appeasement politics. The BJP leader claimed that the demography of the country is changing due to infiltration.

He said, “First in Assam, then West Bengal and Bihar and now infiltration has started in Jharkhand. They are marrying tribal girls and settling down. I want to tell JMM leaders that they may say whatever they want, but if you want to do politics in India then you will have to say Jai Shri Ram.”
