Panaji: Four people, including an 11-year-old boy, who were stranded on beaches due to strong winds in Goa over the weekend, were rescued safely by the state government-appointed lifesaving agency.An 11-year-old tourist from Hyderabad and his instructor were stranded due to strong winds while parasailing at Varca beach in South Goa on Saturday, a spokesperson of Drishti Marine Lifesavers said.

He said that the patrolling lifeguards rescued them safely with the help of local people. The spokesperson said that in another incident, a 30-year-old woman from Karnataka was trapped in the strong currents of the sea and was rescued safely by the lifeguards. He said that people trapped in similar incidents were also rescued at Calangute and Anjuna beaches in North Goa.
