Due to contradictions, the ‘India’ alliance will face a huge defeat in the Lok Sabha elections: BJP

The Uncut

New Delhi. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday asked voters not to waste their votes by casting in favour of the ‘India’ alliance as the opposition alliance’s electoral future is full of contradictions. The party expressed confidence that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will form the government at the Centre for the third time with a massive mandate.

Addressing reporters at the BJP headquarters here, party national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi claimed that differences among the constituents of the ‘India’ alliance are coming out in the open as the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are contesting against each other in Punjab, while Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee has said that she will not attend the ‘India’ alliance meeting to be held on June 1.

He said, “The contradictions of the ‘India’ alliance are coming out in the open. When it is clear that these parties are fighting against each other in Punjab and West Bengal, I would especially like to tell the people of these states that they should think rationally about whom they should vote for in such a situation.” He said, “You can clearly understand that voting for them will be like wasting your vote. The votes cast in their favor will have no value.”

Trivedi claimed that as the Lok Sabha elections are nearing their conclusion after the sixth phase of polling, it is ‘clearly’ visible that the people of the country have understood the situation and the BJP-led NDA is moving towards achieving the target of winning more than 400 seats under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. He said, “The people of the country are decisively standing in support of the BJP.” The BJP leader claimed that Modi will get a third term as the ‘India’ alliance will suffer a crushing defeat in the Lok Sabha elections due to the apparent contradictions in his alliance.
