New Delhi. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was on Sunday sent to judicial custody till June 5 by a court here in a money laundering case related to the alleged excise scam. Duty Judge Sanjeev Aggarwal passed this order after the Chief Minister was presented in the court through video conference after he surrendered in Tihar Jail due to expiry of interim bail.
The Supreme Court had granted interim bail to Kejriwal to campaign in the Lok Sabha elections. The judge passed this order on an application by the Enforcement Directorate. In the application, it was requested to extend his judicial custody for 14 days. The ED had filed this application in the court on May 20 when Kejriwal came out of jail on interim bail. The court, while mentioning that Kejriwal will be sent to judicial custody till June 5, said that the concerned judge is going to pass an order on his application for interim bail on health grounds on that day.
