Hyderabad. Congress leader Sonia Gandhi on Sunday said the Congress government in Telangana led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will leave no stone unturned to fulfil the “guarantees” given to the people. Her video message was played at the 10th Telangana State Formation Day celebrations organised by the state government at the Parade Ground here.

The former Congress president began her speech by paying tribute to those who sacrificed their lives to get statehood for Telangana. She recalled that she had promised in 2004 in Karimnagar in the state that the grand old party would fulfill the people’s demand for a separate state. Sonia Gandhi said that after her announcement, there was discontent within the party and many people left the party, but the resolve of the people gave her strength to fulfill the demand for a separate state.

She said that in the last 10 years, the people of Telangana have given her a lot of love and respect. The former Congress president said that she considers it her duty to realise the dreams of the people of a prosperous and developed Telangana and assured that the Revanth Reddy-led government will leave no stone unturned to fulfil all its ‘guarantees’. The Congress’ election ‘guarantees’ in Telangana include free travel for women in government buses, free electricity supply up to 200 units to the poor and LPG cylinders for Rs 500. On this occasion, she also wished the people for the progress of the state.

At the State Formation Day function, the Chief Minister released the state song ‘Jai Jai He Telangana’ composed by famous Telangana poet Andy Sri. The music of this song has been composed by Oscar winning music director MM Keeravani. The Chief Minister hoisted the national flag at the function and inspected the parade riding on an open jeep.
