PM Modi and Shah directly involved in the biggest ‘scam’ in the stock market: Rahul Gandhi

The Uncut

New Delhi. Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday alleged that the stock buying advice given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah and then the ‘false exit polls’ after the elections led to the biggest scam in the stock market, in which investors lost Rs 30 lakh crore.

He said that a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) should be formed to investigate the role of the Prime Minister, Home Minister and those who conducted the exit polls in this ‘criminal act’. Rahul Gandhi told reporters, “During the elections, Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman commented on the ‘stock market’. While the Prime Minister talked about the stock market rising, the Home Minister said that people should buy shares before June 4… then on June 1, false ‘exit polls’ came.” He claimed that the BJP’s internal survey was giving 220 seats, but the ‘exit polls’ showed more seats.

Rahul Gandhi said, “On June 3, the stock market broke all records, on June 4 it went down with a bang. Thousands of crores of rupees were invested. Retail investors lost Rs 30 lakh crore.” According to the former Congress president, five crore retail investors have suffered losses due to this ‘scam’. He asked, “Why did Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah advise the people of the country to invest in the market? Both the Prime Minister and the Home Minister gave interviews to the channel owned by the Adani Group, against which SEBI’s investigation is going on. In such a situation, what is the role of those channels?”

Rahul Gandhi also asked what is the relationship between BJP, those conducting ‘fake exit polls’ and foreign investors? The Congress leader said that this is the biggest scam in the stock market and a ‘criminal act’ and a JPC should be formed to investigate this matter. He alleged that Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Shah are directly involved in this ‘scam’. Rahul Gandhi said that the role of the Prime Minister, Home Minister and those conducting ‘exit polls’ should be investigated in this.
