New Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha member Raghav Chadha has said that he is hopeful about Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s bail and is waiting for the Supreme Court’s decision. Chadha also appealed to the voters to choose AAP in the assembly elections on October 5. He was in Haryana on Thursday.
The Supreme Court will pronounce its verdict on two separate petitions of Kejriwal in the excise policy ‘scam’ case on Friday. In one of these petitions, the Chief Minister has challenged his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), while in the second petition, he has filed against the decision of denying bail. According to the cause list of September 13 available on the website of the apex court, a bench headed by Justice Suryakant will pronounce its verdict on both the petitions.
Chadha told reporters, “We are very hopeful. We are waiting for tomorrow (Friday).” The Supreme Court bench had reserved its decision on the petitions on September 5. The bench also includes Justice Ujjwal Bhuiyan. The CBI arrested the AAP chief on June 26.
