Indore. After the body of an unidentified girl was found cut into two parts in a train in Indore, the mystery of this murder became more complicated because both her hands and both her legs were recovered inside another train in Rishikesh, about 1,150 km from here. An official of the Government Railway Police (GRP) gave this information on Tuesday. Indore GRP station in-charge Sanjay Shukla said that both the hands and both the legs of a girl were recovered from a plastic bag on Monday afternoon in a train that reached Rishikesh from Laxmibai Nagar in Indore.
He said that earlier, on the information of a cleaning worker, the mutilated body of a girl aged between 20 and 25 years was recovered from Dr. Ambedkar Nagar-Indore passenger train on Sunday. Shukla said, “The part from the head to the waist of the girl was found in a trolley bag in the train, while the part below her waist was found in a plastic bag. Both the hands and legs of the girl were missing, which have now been found in the train in Rishikesh.”
The GRP station in-charge said, “The clues we have found show that the body parts found in different trains in Indore and Rishikesh within two days belong to the same girl. However, we will get the DNA of these body parts matched to confirm this.” He said that the girl found in the train in Rishikesh has the names of a woman and a man tattooed on her hand, which suggests that she was a resident of Gujarat or some area of Madhya Pradesh adjacent to Gujarat.
Shukla said that the dead girl has not been identified yet and to solve the mystery of her murder, footage of about 300 CCTV cameras installed at railway stations in Indore and its surrounding areas is being examined. He said that by contacting the police stations of the border areas of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, it is also being ascertained how many girls aged between 20 to 25 years have gone missing in these areas in the recent past.
