Bhubaneswar: All four gates of the world famous Puri temple will be opened from June 13. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Manjhi told the media on Wednesday that four gates will be opened for devotees during the morning Mangal Aarti so that they can have darshan in a disciplined manner at the temple. After his first cabinet meeting, he said, the four gates of the Lord have been closed for the last few years.

In the general election 2024, the BJP had promised to open four gates of the temple in its Sankalp Patra. Based on the promise made to 4.5 crore people, four gates will be opened tomorrow (13) during Mangal Aarti in the presence of all the members of the Council of Ministers of the state government. Three gates were closed, leaving a gap between the devotees and the deity.

The conservation, maintenance, development of the temple, resolution of problems of pilgrims were discussed. Rs 500 crore will be kept in the corpus fund. He said that four proposals have been passed in the cabinet today. The first two proposals are for Lord Jagannath and the temple.

Based on the third proposal, various problems of farmers will be resolved. The government has proposed how to provide assistance to farmers. The government is going to bring Samriddhi Kisan Policy. Paddy will be purchased at the rate of Rs 3,100 per quintal. The administration has been instructed to prepare a roadmap.

The Women and Child Department was also discussed in the cabinet meeting. There has been a discussion in the cabinet to empower women. Steps will be taken to implement the Subhadra scheme within the next 100 days. It has been decided to implement a voucher of Rs 50,000. Chief Minister Majhi said that a policy decision has been taken to implement the concerned department.
