Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said on Sunday that under the Narendra Modi government, the army’s dependence on foreign weapons has reduced and special attention is being given to the manufacturing of indigenous fighter aircraft and other equipment. He was addressing a program organized at 3 EME Center here in the honor of ex-servicemen in the presence of Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi.
Yadav said, “The morale of the army has increased under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. Latest weapons with new technology are being provided to him. The Prime Minister has reduced the army’s dependence on foreign weapons and has paid special attention to the manufacturing of indigenous fighter aircraft and weapons. Making clear reference to ‘surgical strikes’ on cross-border terrorist camps, he said that India not only responds to the attack but also penetrates into the enemy territory to retaliate.
On this occasion, Admiral Tripathi said that Madhya Pradesh has a history of bravery and courage and this state has given the country three Ashok Chakra winners, five Mahavir Chakra winners and 23 Vir Chakra winners. The Admiral said, “In the last 25 years, more than 100 soldiers (from Madhya Pradesh) have sacrificed their lives for the motherland. This ceremony is the result of dedication, efficient leadership and contribution of ex-servicemen.” On this occasion, Yadav honored the wives of ex-soldiers who fought bravely in the Second World War and relatives of martyrs from Bhopal.
