Dubai. India’s fast bowler Arshdeep Singh, due to his consistently good performance, reached the eighth position in the top 10 list of bowlers in the International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 International rankings released on Wednesday. Left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep took three wickets for 14 runs in the first T20 match against Bangladesh in Gwalior last Sunday. He jumped eight places to eighth position with 642 rating points. He is the only Indian bowler included in the top 10.
England’s Adil Rashid remains the top-ranked bowler in the shortest format while West Indies’ Akil Hussain is at second and Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan is at third. The ICC said on its website, “Arshdeep has also gained a lot in the latest rankings update, this left-arm fast bowler has jumped eight places in the updated list of T20 bowlers and after taking three wickets against Bangladesh. Has achieved the highest rating of his career.”
Hardik Pandya, who played an unbeaten inning of 39 runs with the help of five fours and two sixes in 16 balls against Bangladesh, moved up seven places to reach 60th position in the list of batsmen. This top Indian all-rounder also took one wicket for 26 runs and moved up four places to the third position in the list of all-rounders. England’s Liam Livingstone tops the list of all-rounders and Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airi is in second place.
India’s opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal dropped one place to fifth position in the list of batsmen. He was left behind by Pakistan’s Babar Azam. Jaiswal is not part of the Indian team for the three-match T20 series against Bangladesh.
Washington Sundar has also improved his ranking and has moved up four places to 35th in the list of T20 bowlers.
