Arunachal Pradesh tiger reserve patrolling, patrolling increased in Pakke tiger reserve

Itanagar: Forest department personnel have increased night patrolling in the core areas and fringe areas of Pakke Tiger Reserve in Pakke Kesang district of Arunachal Pradesh. An official gave this information on Saturday. Riloh Range Forest Officer Talo Dibo said patrolling has been intensified after four unidentified persons were caught collecting frogs from Takosinyi Pond area, about 20 km from the range office, on May 15.

Dibo, who led the patrol, said the patrolling was being carried out at the Reloh Wildlife Range headquarters to prevent illegal fishing and hunting of wild birds and animals and to create awareness among the general public but the patrol team’s pond area As soon as they reached, some unknown people ran away into the deep forest. He told that he had a .22 rifle and a 12 bore SBBL gun.

The officer said that during a search of the area, two bags, a knife, three cartridges of 12 bore SBBL gun and a roasted giant black squirrel were recovered. He told that the hunters ran away taking advantage of the darkness. The officer said the hunters were armed with firearms.
