As long as I can play the role of a normal girl, I will continue doing it: Sai Manjrekar

Mumbai. Actress Sai Manjrekar has said that she only wants to play the role of a normal girl right now and she will break this image by playing different roles with time. She started her film career with Salman Khan’s ‘Dabangg 3’. After that she worked in Telugu films like ‘Ghani’, ‘Major’ and ‘Skanda’.

Saiee Manjrekar (22) is next seen in the film Aur Mein Kahan Dum Tha, in which she plays the younger version of Tabu. The film also stars Ajay Devgn and Shantanu Maheshwari. On playing the role of a simple girl, the actress told PTI that she is still very young and innocent and it shows on her face. She says that as she experiences things in her life, it will start showing automatically.

She said that she only wants to play the role of a normal girl right now and she will break this image by playing different roles with time. Sai, daughter of famous actor and filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar, said that every artist’s journey is different.

He said, “Everyone’s journey is different but you have to live through them and experience things and see where you want to be.” Directed by Neeraj Pandey, ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’ revolves around a couple played by Ajay Devgan and Tabu. They get separated when the male character goes to jail for murder. They meet again after 20 years when he is released from jail.

On her experience of working with Tabu, Sai said, “I think the ease with which Tabu ma’am executes each scene is really inspiring. She is very comfortable and natural in front of the camera and that inspires me a lot.” The film will release in theatres on August 2. It also stars Jimmy Shergill.
