The Uncut

Sydney: Australian hockey player Tom Craig has been suspended for twelve months by Hockey Australia for trying to buy cocaine during the Paris Olympics. Craig was arrested on the night of August 7 in Paris while trying to buy cocaine but was later released.

French prosecutors confirmed in a statement that the 29-year-old Australian Olympian and Tokyo Olympics silver medallist had been released on a criminal warning after being detained overnight.

Hockey Australia said in a statement issued on Wednesday, “After investigating the arrest of national men’s hockey team player Tom Craig during the Paris Olympics 2024, Hockey Australia’s Ethics Unit has decided to suspend him for 12 months.”

It said, “Six months will be a complete suspension and the remaining six months will depend on his behavior.” Hockey Australia said Craig will be eligible for selection in the team for 2025. The Australian team finished sixth in the Paris Olympics.
