Bahraich. In the communal violence in Maharajganj of Bahraich district, the police have arrested two more absconding accused identified through video footage, after which the total number of accused arrested from both the sides has increased to 115. A police officer gave this information. For scientific investigation of more than a thousand video footage received by the police during this violence, a “special team” of IT expert police has been formed and a separate control room has been set up to investigate the video footage.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Vrinda Shukla told ‘PTI-Bhasha’ late on Sunday evening that two named accused Maroof and Nankau, who were absconding in the Ramgopal Mishra murder case on October 13, were arrested by the police on Sunday. Apart from this, the police have also arrested two youths named Sushil Dwivedi and Mannu, accused of arson and robbery on October 14, who were identified from the video footage. So far, 115 arrests have been made from both sides in cases related to the communal violence of 13 and 14 October.
Superintendent of Police said, “Starting from Maharajganj town under Hardi police station on October 13 and 14, the police formed an eleven-member ‘special team’ to collect necessary evidence and take further legal action in relation to the incidents taking place in various areas of the district. A control room has been set up on the line, which will collect as much video and other evidence as is available with media personnel and residents of the district.” He said, “With this, all the persons committing criminal acts can be identified and legal action can be taken against them.”
SP said, “For the formation of this special team of 11 members, we have selected officers and personnel present in the department having B.Tech-M.Tech degrees and having knowledge of cyber and information technology. This special team will be led by Trainee Deputy Superintendent of Police Raj Singh. The team includes two inspectors, three sub-inspectors and five reserve level policemen. The team included team leader Deputy Superintendent Raj Singh, two inspectors, three sub inspectors and two constables B.Tech. Or M.Tech. All the above and other police personnel are degree holders and are cyber experts.”
SP said, “This team will collect news sources, various online portals, social media and available videos published in the entire state in relation to all the incidents and actions, taking cooperation from the concerned police stations, identify the accused and save them in digital form.” Will do. This control room will operate in the auditorium room located at Police Lines till further orders.” SP said, “The purpose of forming a special team is to verify the information received regarding the incident with the help of video evidence and ensure that there is no error in quickly uncovering the incidents and filing charge sheets, and also to ensure that no one is found innocent due to political or other reasons.” The person should not get trapped in the wrong way.”
On October 13, in Maharajganj town under Hardi police station, Ram Gopal Mishra (22), resident of Rehua Mansoor village, was killed in firing amid the ruckus over DJ playing a song in the Durga idol immersion procession. After this, communal violence spread in Mahsi, Maharajganj and Bahraich city on 13 and 14 October. People caused damage to property worth crores of rupees by vandalizing and arsoning houses, shops, showrooms and hospitals etc. Many people were injured in the incident. The atmosphere of the district, especially in Mahsi Maharajganj area, had deteriorated. Police officials said that the situation in the district is now completely normal, there is no tension in Mahsi-Maharajganj area, banks, markets and other institutions are opening. People are seen doing festival shopping in the markets. Adequate police force is deployed as a precautionary measure.
