Balod. Four children were injured when plaster fell from the roof of a primary school in Chhattisgarh’s Balod district. Officials gave this information on Wednesday. Officials said that after this incident, two officials including the school’s head teacher have been suspended. They said that four children were injured when plaster fell from the roof of a primary school in Korguda village of Doondilohara development block of the district.
Officials said that this morning when all the students were studying in their classroom, suddenly the plaster of the ceiling in the rear part of the classroom broke and fell down. Four children were injured due to this. After this incident, the injured children were rushed to the local hospital, from where they were sent to Balod District Hospital. The condition of the children is out of danger.
Balod District Education Officer P C Markale said that four children were reported injured after plaster fell from the ceiling of the school. After receiving information about this incident, the school was inspected. During the inspection, it was found that one room of the original building of the school is not suitable for children to sit in. Three additional rooms have been constructed in the school.
The District Education Officer said that the cluster coordinator of the area had said that the condition of all the schools in the area was fine. This shows that the coordinator had not inspected all the schools. He said that in view of this, the district administration has suspended Yashwant Nirmalkar, cluster coordinator of cluster center Dudhli and head teacher Tulsi Devi Goyal of Korguda Primary School with immediate effect. Meanwhile, after the incident, Congress MLA from the area and former minister Anila Bhindiya reached the hospital and met the injured children and their families.
