New Delhi: The Indian Navy, in joint action with the Sri Lankan Navy, has seized 500 kg of drugs from the Arabian Sea. The drugs seized were crystal meth, which was seized from two boats. Both the seized boats, the people on board and the drugs have been handed over to the Government of Sri Lanka, where further legal action will be taken against them. It is noteworthy that in recent times, drugs have been seized on a large scale at various places in the country.
Recently, the Indian Coast Guard had seized 5,500 kg of methamphetamine drugs, this seizure was made in the Andaman-Nicobar maritime area. A Coast Guard pilot spotted a suspicious boat off Barren Island in Andaman and Nicobar during routine surveillance. Even after warning, when the crew tried to drive away the boat, the Coast Guard took action and seized the boat.
