Araria. Police have arrested three more people in connection with the alleged inhumane act committed on a youth caught on charges of theft in Araria district of Bihar. According to a statement issued by Araria police on Wednesday, three other accused involved in the incident, Mohammad Kaif, Mohammad Umar and Mohammad Ragib, have also been arrested. Police have already arrested the main accused in this case, Mohammad Sifat and Ravi Shah. Two other accused involved in this incident have been identified, and police are continuously conducting raids to arrest them.
The police have appealed to people not to share such videos of so-called inhuman acts on social media platforms, as it hurts the self-respect of the person concerned. The police said in a statement, “People should immediately inform the district police about such videos. Sharing such videos on social media is a crime… and the police will also take action against those who share such videos on social media platforms.”
In a statement issued by Araria police on August 27, it was said, “On August 26, a video of an alleged inhuman act in Araria district was reported on social media. In the video, a youth was tied with a rope and some people were pouring a chilli-like substance on his private parts on the charge of theft.” The statement said that on verification by the technical branch, this video was found to be from Islamnagar of Araria police station area, after which immediate action was taken by registering an FIR against the accused.
