Bijapur. An officer of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) who was on patrol in Chhattisgarh’s Naxal-affected Bijapur district died in a road accident and a soldier was injured. Police officials gave this information on Thursday. Police officials said that DRG Assistant Sub-Inspector Telam Chamru (39) died in a road accident near Bechapal village under Mirtur police station area of ​​the district and constable Uday Kumar Patwa of Bastar Fighters was injured.

Officials said that Assistant Sub-Inspector Telam Chamru posted in Bijapur DRG had gone on a motorcycle on Wednesday night for searching duty in Mirtur area. During this, his motorcycle fell into a deep pit near Bechapal village and crashed, injuring Chamru and constable Uday Kumar Patwa of Bastar Fighters sitting with him.

He said that after getting information about the incident, the security forces took the injured police personnel to Dantewada hospital where Chamru died during treatment. His body will be sent to Bijapur Police Line. Officials said that the condition of Bastar Fighter constable Uday Kumar Patwa injured in this incident is normal. He is being treated at the Medical College Hospital in Jagdalpur.
