Bijapur. Naxalites allegedly hanged two villagers to death in Chhattisgarh’s Naxal-affected Bijapur district, police officials said on Thursday. Bastar region’s Inspector General of Police Sundarraj P. said that the police have received information about the incident and detailed information is being collected in this regard.
Sundarraj said that according to preliminary information, Naxalites had kidnapped three villagers including a school student from Jappemarka village of Mirtur police station area on Tuesday. He said that later the Naxalites held a Jan Adalat and hanged two of them on a tree. They released the school student. The officer said that the deceased have been identified as Madvi Suja and Podiyam Kosa.
He said that the Maoists’ Bhairamgarh area committee has taken responsibility for the murder and claimed that both were working as police informers. Sundarraj said that immediately after getting information about the incident on Thursday, a police team was sent to the spot. Detailed information about the incident is not yet available.
