Bijapur. Security forces have arrested seven Naxalites in Naxal-affected Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. Police officials gave this information on Tuesday. Police officials said that the security forces arrested these seven Naxalites from Nelsanar and Mirtur police station areas of the district.
He told that as part of the ongoing anti-Naxal campaign in the district, a team of District Force was sent on patrol from Nelsanar police station area on September 29. When the team reached the forest of Bangapal Dongripara, five suspected Naxalites started running away from there. Later the security forces surrounded them and caught them.
Police officials said that in this action, five Naxalites Sannu Ursa (38), Munna Ursa (38), Somlu Ursa (33), Kamlu Madakam (28) and Vijay Kunjam (19) have been arrested. He said that electrical wires, pencil cells, huge quantity of medicines and Maoist propaganda material have been recovered from the possession of the captured Naxalites.
Officials said that the arrested Naxalites were working for the Maoist organization for the last six years. He said that in another incident, security forces arrested two Naxalites, Shankar Karam (26) and Pandey Karam (26) from Cherli Vijagufa forest under Mirtur police station area. Explosive material has been recovered from Naxalites. Officials said that the operation against Naxalites is going on in the area.
