‘Bio gas’ plant to be set up in Durg district of Chhattisgarh

Raipur. A concession agreement was signed between Bhilai Municipal Corporation, Chhattisgarh Bio Fuel Authority and Bharat Petroleum for setting up a ‘bio gas’ plant in Durg district of Chhattisgarh. Officials gave this information on Tuesday. Officials said that a tripartite concession agreement was signed to promote the production of biofuel from municipal solid waste.

He told that this agreement has been signed under the sustainable plan in Chhattisgarh, under which a ‘Compressed Bio Gas’ (CBG) plant will be established in Jamul at a cost of Rs 60 crore. Officials said that with the establishment of this plant, about 150 metric tons of solid waste generated daily in Municipal Corporation Bhilai and surrounding Municipal Corporations of Durg district can be used in biofuel production. He said that with the installation of this plant, a large number of direct and indirect employment will be created every year. Officials said that the establishment of the plant will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and clean the environment.
