BJP alleges that two of its workers were shot dead in West Bengal

The Uncut

Barasat: The opposition party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in West Bengal on Wednesday morning alleged that two of its workers were shot in Bhatpara in North 24 Parganas district. However, the police claimed that the two men were beaten up by some people outside the ‘Anglo-India Jute Mill’. It said that the injured were taken to the government hospital in Bhatpara for treatment.

Former BJP MP Arjun Singh alleged that miscreants belonging to the Trinamool Congress opened fire, a charge rejected by the ruling party. The incident took place during a 12-hour statewide bandh called by the BJP on Tuesday to protest police action on those participating in the ‘Nabanna Abhiyaan’.

The march was organised by a newly formed student group ‘Chhatra Samaj’ demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over the rape and murder of a doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Hospital.
