Vijayapura: Vijayapura MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal has been booked for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during a recent public meeting here. Police gave this information on Saturday.
A case was registered on Friday on the complaint of Congress Municipal Councilor Parshuram Hosamani. The complaint alleges that Yatnal made derogatory statements against Rahul Gandhi and Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah at an event on October 15.
On the basis of this complaint, a case of intentional insult to disturb peace and spreading false and misleading information was registered against Yatnal at Gandhi Chowk police station.
