Mumbai. The cyber branch of Maharashtra Police has registered a case against some e-company selling online goods for selling T-shirts glorifying gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. Officials gave this information on Thursday.
An official said that these products which idealize criminal persons pose a big threat to the society by promoting distorted images (of values), which can have a negative impact on the young minds. The official said that during online monitoring by cyber security officials, it was found that several ‘e-commerce platforms’ including Flipkart, AliExpress and e-companies like Tshopper and Etsy were selling T-shirts glorifying gangsters like Lawrence Bishnoi and Dawood Ibrahim. .
Taking serious cognizance of the matter, the cyber branch of Maharashtra Police has registered a case under various sections of the Indian Judicial Code against the sellers responsible for listing these objectionable products, the release said.
