CBI will investigate CGPSC recruitment scam, Cabinet took a big decision…

Raipur. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai's cabinet meeting was held on Wednesday. In this, it was decided to get the complaints received regarding the State Service Examination-2021 conducted by CG PSC to be investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). During the elections, BJP had included this issue in its manifesto, which has been completed by the Cabinet. Let us tell you that as soon as the results of Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) were announced, allegations of scam started being made. The then CGPSC Chairman Taman Singh Sonwani, Raj Bhavan Secretary Amrit Khalko and many other officers have been accused of appointing sons, daughters and close relatives to the posts of Deputy Collector and DSP. Former BJP leader Nanki Ram Kanwar has filed a petition in the High Court regarding the matter.

Recruitment examination was held for 171 posts

CGPSC exam notification was released in the year 2021. The total posts for recruitment were 171. The pre-exam of the examination was conducted on 13 February 2022, in which a total of 2 thousand 565 passed. A total of 509 candidates passed the mains exam and were called for interview. The final result of 170 candidates was released on 11 May 2023.

Selection of people close to PSC Chairman

After the final result, objections have started being raised on the merit list. Allegations were made that relatives of the PSC Chairman and close relatives of Congress Party leaders have been selected in the merit list. Former state BJP leader Nanki Ram Kanwar has filed a petition in the High Court asking for a ban on recruitment.

Bhupesh Sarkar had asked for evidence

The then Bhupesh Baghel government, ignoring the objections raised regarding the PSC selection list, had asked for evidence regarding the selection list on the demand of CBI investigation. Even after the matter went to court, there was no change in the stand of Bhupesh Sarkar.

BJP included in the manifesto

There were continuous claims of irregularities by BJP in the recruitment examinations of CGPSC. BJP had even made this an issue in the elections and had talked about conducting a CBI inquiry in its manifesto if the government is formed. Along with this, a promise has also been made to conduct competitive examinations on the lines of UPSC.
