Deoghar. Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Monday criticized the BJP for accusing JMM of protecting infiltrators in the state and said the Center was actually “encouraging” infiltration. Addressing an election rally in Madhupur in favor of JMM candidate Hafeezul Hasan, Soren asked on what basis does the BJP and its leaders claim about Bangladeshi infiltration in Jharkhand, “when there has been no identification in this regard”.
He said, the responsibility of border security rests with the Center and the Border Security Force. This is not in the hands of the state government. I don’t know how they (BJP) are talking about Bangladeshi infiltration (into Jharkhand).” Soren said, how does a former Prime Minister of Bangladesh get permission to land… and she is given shelter. This is done by the Centre, but they blame us. The Chief Minister was referring to former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who left the country and came to India in August following widespread anti-government protests.
BJP leader Hemant Soren has been accusing the government of giving protection to Bangladeshi infiltrators in the state. Assembly elections will be held in Jharkhand in two phases on 13 November and 20 November. Soren also accused BJP of dividing the society in the name of caste, creed and religion. He claimed that the BJP “has been plotting” against him since his government came to power in 2019. Soren said, “Despite the obstacles created by the opposition party, we have completed our full five-year term.” He also said that if he comes to power again, he will give Rs 1 lakh to every poor family during the next five years.
