Amravati: A central government team arrived here on Wednesday to assess the damage caused by the floods caused by the recent torrential rains in Andhra Pradesh. Local officials have prepared a preliminary report on the damage caused by the floods and have also decided the route of the central team’s visit.
According to an official release, “Local officials are briefing the central team on the flood situation and damage caused by it at the Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) office in Tadepalli.” It said the central team is meeting officials of various departments and gathering information about the devastation caused by the floods in West Godavari, Eluru, Krishna, NTR, Guntur, Bapatla and Palnadu districts.
According to the release, the central team was briefed on the damage caused by the Budameru river in Vijayawada and also about the various relief activities being undertaken by the state government.
