CG Budget 2024-25: Agriculture and horticulture colleges will open in Kunkuri, Ramchandrapur, Khadgaon, Sheelphili.

Raipur. While presenting the budget for the year 2024-25 for Chhattisgarh, Finance Minister OP Chaudhary increased the agriculture budget by 33% and made a total provision of Rs 13,438 crore. Along with this, it was announced to establish agriculture and horticulture colleges in Kunkuri, Ramchandrapur, Khadgaon, Sheelphili. In his budget speech, Finance Minister Choudhary announced the establishment of new nurseries in 14 development blocks along with Agricultural Engineer offices in Durg and Surguja districts. Keeping a provision of Rs 300 crore for irrigation projects, a provision of Rs 100 crore was made to speed up the irrigation projects in Raigarh under the Kelo project and Rs 72 crore for irrigation dams.

A provision of Rs 561 crore was made in the budget to provide employment to women through self-help groups.

A provision of Rs 3000 crore was made in the budget for expansion of area for irrigation. With this, provision of funds was made for 156 works worth more than Rs 10 crore. The canal construction work of Kelo project will be completed with Rs 100 crores. A provision of Rs 1 crore was made for the establishment of the State Water Center and Rs 72 crore was made for the safety of irrigation dams.
