Raipur. Chakradhar Samaroh is going to be organized again with its old splendor and dignity. The outline of the 10-day art festival has been prepared. Famous artists are going to reach Raigarh to showcase their talent. The stage of Chakradhar Samaroh has its own special reputation in the art world. During the last few years, due to the Covid pandemic, the festival could not be organized on a large scale. There is one more special thing included in this year’s event. This year, 7 personalities honored with Padmashree, the fourth highest civilian award of the Government of India, will grace the stage of Raigarh Chakradhar Samaroh.
Padmashree Hema Malini– Who is a leading and multi-talented actress of Indian cinema, is also known for her Bharatnatyam dance. She is known for her significant contribution in promoting Indian art and culture. Hema Malini’s mastery and proficiency in Bharatnatyam, which is an ancient and classical dance form, is unparalleled. The characteristics of her dance can be clearly seen in her excellent technique, expression and her presence on stage. She not only presented her art through films, but also made the art of classical dance popular across the country and abroad. She has performed many important dance performances, which beautifully depict Indian mythology and religious stories. The expression of various postures and emotions of dance in her performance mesmerizes the audience. Her dance practice and dedication to art has given her an important place not only in the world of cinema, but also in the world of classical dance. She has been awarded the fourth highest civilian honor Padma Shri in the year 2000.
Padma Shri Ramlal Bareth- He has dedicated his life to develop the Raigarh Kathak style and establish Kathak as a gharana. Pandit Ramlal Bareth has a huge contribution in popularizing the Raigarh Kathak style. Due to his tireless efforts, the Raigarh Kathak style is known as the Raigarh Gharana. The Raigarh Gharana is famous all over the world as the fourth Kathak gharana. Pandit Ramlal has been honored with the Sangeet Natak Academy Award, the national honor of India, by the Honorable President of India Shankar Dayal Sharma in 1996. He has been awarded the Padma Shri in the year 2024.
Padmashri Kumari Devyani- Anik Shemotti, better known by the stage name Kumari Devyani, is an Indian dancer who performs in the Indian classical dance form Bharatanatyam. She has performed at festivals and music halls in India as well as in Britain, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Greece, Portugal, Scandinavian countries, Estonia and South Korea. Devyani is a listed artist of the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR). She was awarded the Padma Shri in 2009.
Padma Shri Dr. Bharti Bandhu- is an Indian musician and singer whose Kabir bhajans are very famous. He was born in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Bharti Bandhu has given thousands of performances across the country and the world. He was awarded the State Decoration for his remarkable contribution in the field of music. He has also been awarded the Raja Chakradhar Samman. He is a symbol of Sufi and Kabir music in India. He has been awarded the Padma Shri in the year 2013.
Padma Shri Anuj Sharma– Shri Anuj Sharma, a renowned personality in Chhattisgarhi cinema and art field, is known for his talent in direction, acting and singing. He was awarded the fourth highest civilian award Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2014 for his services in the field of art.
Padma Shri Dr. Surendra Dubey- Dr. Surendra Dubey is famous all over the country and the world for his humorous poems. He is also an Ayurvedic doctor by profession. He has promoted the dialect and culture of the state from various national and international forums. He was awarded Padmashree, the fourth highest Indian civilian award, by the Government of India in 2010.
Padma Shri Ranjana Gauhar- She is a famous Odissi dancer, choreographer and film producer. She has also been awarded the Padma Shri and Sangeet Natak Academy Award. She has also written a book (Odissi the Dance Divine) on Odissi dance. Ranjana Gauhar has been awarded the prestigious Padma Shri by the President of India in 2003 and the National Sangeet Natak Academy Award in 2007.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai invited to attend the 39th Chakradhar Samaroh
Collector Raigarh Kartikeya Goyal and Superintendent of Police Divyang Patel paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai at his residence in the capital Raipur today and invited him to attend the 39th Chakradhar Samaroh. The Chief Minister accepted the invitation and wished him for the successful organisation of the ceremony.
The Chief Minister said that Chakradhar Samaroh is the identity of Raigarh. International and nationally renowned artists have enhanced its glory by performing in the Samaroh. He said that I have been an MP from Raigarh and have seen this event closely. Sai said that I also have an emotional attachment to the Samaroh. Maharaja Chakradhar has handed over an invaluable cultural heritage to Raigarh, which is continuously prospering. The popularity of the Samaroh can be gauged from the fact that artists and art lovers wait for this Samaroh throughout the year. Chief Minister Sai also asked to prominently include local folk artists in the Samaroh.
