Chhattisgarh government increased dearness allowance of state employees by four percent.

Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai on Wednesday announced a four percent increase in the dearness allowance (DA) of state government employees. With this, dearness allowance in the state will now be 50 percent of the basic salary. Sai told reporters here today that Diwali festival is near and in such a situation his government has decided to increase DA by four percent. With this it will become equal to the central government.

Senior state officials said that this decision will benefit about 3.90 lakh employees of the state government. This increase will be effective from October 1 this year. Earlier in the beginning of March, the Sai government had increased DA by four percent, making it 46 percent of the basic salary.
