Raipur: Hemchand Majhi has been provided Y category security by the Chhattisgarh government. In this regard, orders have been issued from the Home Department Ministry Mahanadi Bhawan.

It is noteworthy that this order has been issued by the State Government in the meeting of Protection Review Group on the recommendation of providing security category to Hemchand Majhi (Narayanpur) and keeping in view the current security scenario in the State.

Naxalites have threatened – Police said that on Sunday night, Naxalites set fire to two under-construction mobile towers in Chameli and Gaurdanda villages under Chhotedongar police station area of ​​the district and threw pamphlets threatening Manjhi.

The Maoist pamphlet has a picture of Manjhi in which he is seen receiving the Padma Shri award from President Draupadi Murmu. In the pamphlet, the Maoists alleged that Manjhi had helped in starting the Amdai Valley Iron Ore Project in Chhotedongar area of ​​Narayanpur and he had received bribe for this.

However, Manjhi has denied this allegation. Earlier also the Naxalites had made the same allegations against Manjhi and had threatened him with dire consequences.

Speaking to PTI on Monday, Majhi denied the Maoists’ allegations and said he had already made it clear to the villagers that he had no connection with the iron ore mine. He said he had decided to return the Padma Shri award and give up his traditional medicine practice after discussions with his family.
