Chhattisgarh will get national honor in the field of tourism on World Tourism Day on 27 September

On the occasion of World Tourism Day, Chhattisgarh is going to achieve a major achievement at the national level. Under The Best Tourism Village Competition 2024 organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, Dhudmaras and Chitrakote villages of Bastar district will be specially honored. Dhudmaras village of Bastar will get this honor for its excellent performance in the field of adventure tourism and Chitrakote for its excellent work in community based tourism. This honor will be given on 27 September at the World Tourism Day celebration organized at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.

Tourism development in Chhattisgarh based on the vision of Prime Minister Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi believes that tourism is an effective means of preserving India’s cultural heritage as well as the economic empowerment of local communities. His vision is that tourism should be done along with environmental protection. Along with this, sustainable and inclusive tourism should be developed, which will boost the country’s economy. The Chhattisgarh government has also taken concrete steps in this direction. The state has developed tourism in these areas while preserving its forest wealth, tribal traditions, and natural heritage. Special efforts are being made to maintain environmental balance as well as provide employment to local people. Continuous work is being done to get the state’s natural beauty and cultural diversity recognized at the global level through tourism.

Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai’s vision for tourism development
Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai has announced several ambitious schemes to give international recognition to Chhattisgarh’s tourism. Under religious tourism, five Shaktipeeths are being developed in the state – Kudargarh in Surajpur, Chandrahasini temple in Chandrapur, Mahamaya temple in Ratanpur, Bamleshwari temple in Dongargarh and Danteshwari temple in Dantewada. Apart from this, the state government has a special focus on eco-tourism and medical tourism in the state.

The state government has decided to increase the grant for religious and cultural events, which will speed up the preparations for religious and cultural events while preserving them. This time the Bastar Dussehra event will be especially grand and huge. This festival will not only showcase the local culture but will also become a center of attraction for tourists.

Chief Minister Sai said, our aim is to establish Chhattisgarh as a major tourist destination, where tourists can experience our wildlife, tribal heritage and natural beauty. As per his vision, wellness tourism, agricultural tourism, and adventure tourism are being promoted in the major tourist destinations of the state. Apart from this, the development of amusement parks and cultural centers is also proving to be helpful in promoting tourism in the state.

Under the Amrit Kaal Vision Document 2024, the Chief Minister has talked about giving a shape to the tourism aspirations of the state. Under this scheme, extensive work is being done to develop Chhattisgarh as a global tourist destination, where international level facilities will be available.

Heritage of Chitrakote and Dhudmara
These two villages of Chhattisgarh, Dhudmaras and Chitrakote, are symbols of the rich cultural heritage and natural wealth of the state. The famous waterfall of Chitrakote, also known as the Niagara of India, is a unique attraction for tourists. At the same time, Dhudmaras village is famous for its adventure tourism, where tourists can experience exciting activities.

The honouring of these two villages is a special achievement for the tourism sector of the state. This will not only strengthen the identity of Chhattisgarh’s culture and traditions, but will also give a new dimension to the environmental tourism of the state.
